Tapping
Emotional Freedom Techniques or Tapping is an energy psychology therapy which involves tapping on meridian points on the upper body and hands.
It is believed that ''the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system'', Gary Craig.
I find Tapping and the way it works Magical. It's amazing how much we can influence the chemicals our body produces to make stress hormones and happy hormones. That's cortisol, adrenaline, oxytocin and endorphins.
Adrenaline and cortisol are produced when we enter fight or flight, oxytocin and endorphins are produced when we are at ease and happy. Endorphins are also our body's natural pain relief and that's why Tapping is great for easing physical pain. This means we can have control over how our body reacts to situations, events and memories.
What happens at the first session?
The first session is an initial consultation where i will take notes about your problem area. It is also a chance for you to ask questions about how Tapping works. If time allows, i will go through the Tapping points with you and we will start to work on your issue. Subsequent sessions will help to clear the problem area.
How many sessions will I need?
I usually suggest at least 3 sessions to start with, however this is completely up to you. Every person and problem is different but this will be discussed at the consultation. We review our progress at each meeting. You may also have simple relaxation exercises to do between sessions.
